It's getting pretty cold here. Trying to finish the some work on the gutters before winter. Need to bring my records up from the cabana. Need to teach a class next week. I'm really going to buckle down and start getting ready tomorrow. Sigh.
I realized something yesterday, something that has been a driving force in my personality and work ethic sincle high school. That something can be described in three parts:
a) Unpreparedness is a fact of life.
b) I can accept being unprepared.
c) For any given situation, the prospect of being unprepared is not only acceptable, it is often preferable to the prospect of expending the amount of effort required to adequately become prepared.
I think I'll call it "Preston's Theory of Preparedness".
